Karnataka State Open University is recognized by University Grant Commission and Distance Education Council of India.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) regulates the programs offered in Technical Disciplines whereas University Grant Commission regulates the overall management and standard maintenance of a university. For an instance, if you have completed a degree program in technical discipline from UGC recognized university but the same university is not approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the degree offered by the university will not be accepted in various educational institutions for higher studies in technical discipline and even in various private and public sector organizations offering jobs in technical department.

No it is not vaild in any other states rather than karnataka. there is no good job placement. u have to visit karnataka for getting a job. I am from Farakka and applied through Karnataka i didnt got a good job in kolkata or west bengal. Better not to choose this university.
