Gayatri College of Science & Management came into existence in the year 1991 and even though the institute had a modest beginning, its ambition was lofty. When this institution was introduced, almost all UG colleges in the district of Srikakulam in the state of Andhra Pradesh in which the college is located were urban-based institutions. This was the only institution with the rural surroundings in the district and therefore, the institute can well be called as a pioneer in spreading the message of education in the rural setting. The college aims at eradicating the need for educational body in the local villages of the district of Srikakulam.
