Government College of Pharmacy at Aurangabad came into existence in the year 1996 due to the efforts taken by the Honorable Late Shri Govindbhaiki Shroff. Initially, the institute began its journey as one of the Departments of the Government College of Engineering and immediately in the year 1999, it was converted as a separate government college. Within a short period of its introduction, the college has earned credibility for offering quality education and is offering education with affiliation from the Dr. Babasahed Ambedkar Marathwada University located in Aurangabad. It is also approved by the Government or Maharashtra and the AICTE.

Courses offered:

Government College of Pharmacy offers the following courses:

• Bachelor of Pharmacy

• Master of Pharmacy in Pharmaceutics

• Master of Pharmacy in Pharmaceutical Chemistry

In addition to these courses, the college has also got approved facilities from the affiliating university for doctoral studies.

Intake capacity of the institute:

Government College of Pharmacy is approved with an intake capacity of 60 students per year for the B. Pharm course, 18 students per year for the M. Pharm in Pharmaceutics and 8 students per year for the M. Pharm in Pharmaceutical Chemistry courses. Course duration of UG course is four years, while that of PG courses is two years.

Admission to courses:

For Bachelor of Pharmacy course offered by the Government College of Pharmacy, candidates with higher secondary qualification with mathematics, biology and chemistry papers are eligible to apply. Admission to the UG course is done based on the merit secured by candidates in the MH-CET examination conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education of the state of Maharashtra.

Laboratory facilities at the college:

Government College of Pharmacy has lab facilities for Pharmaceutics & Industrial Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry & Analysis, Pharmacology and Computer lab as well.
