How to fill Civil Services Exam Form?
The UPSC form as well as the information brochure will be obtainable from selected Post Offices or Head Post Offices all over the county. The notifications about the civil service exams will appear in all leading periodicals by the end of December every year.
Instructions to be followed for filling in form
The candidates should be careful when filling up their form. The examination centre as well as the elective subjects chosen for the exam must be given clearly in the form.
If a candidate appears for an exam that is not intended for him, he won’t be admitted for the exam and his candidature will be rejected.
The candidates must not submit any documents alongside their application. Documents that are mentioned in the brochure will be verified at the time of the main exam only.
Exemptions to be taken care while filling in form
Some exceptions are provided for candidates. You need to be aware of them when filling the application form, they are:
- Candidates of the Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe will have an age relaxation of up to five years.
- Aspirants belonging to OBC category will have an age relaxation of up to three years.
- Personnel disabled in hostile operations in a disturbed area or any foreign country and released as a result thereof will have a relaxation of maximum three years.
- Ex-servicemen will have a relaxation of up to five years.
- ECOs/SSCOs will have an exemption for five years.
- Orthopedically handicapped persons or blind, deaf-mute individuals will have an exemption of 10 years.
- Fee structure
- As the examination form is common for all exams, the price of the form is only Rs. 20/-.
Last date for receipt of applications
The application for the UPSC exam must be submitted on the end of January or the beginning of February, 2011.
Acknowledgement of exam application form
On receipt of the application, the Acknowledgement Card will be mailed to him by the office of the Commission. The candidate should get it within 30 days. Incase the same is not received then immediately contact the Commission. Incase any candidate delivers the application form directly at the Counter, they shall receive the Acknowledgement Card immediately. In case any application is rejected the same shall be notified to them at the earliest.
