The Indian Veterinary Research Institute conducts entrance examinations in PhD Animal Biochemistry in order to select the eligible candidates for the doctoral programme. The science that deals with the diagnosing, curing and taking care of different types of disease in animals and birds is known as Veterinary science. This particular field of study also includes the examination of animal physiology, prevention and healing of infirmity among the animals. Structure of Indian Veterinary Research Institute PhD in Animal Biochemistry Entrance Exam

The entrance examination for PhD in Animal Biochemistry is divided into two parts. The first part of the examination is carried out for 100 marks. It consists of English and General English questions. Second section of the examination consists of subject matter questions. The marks scored for the first section will not be considered while preparing the merit list of the candidate.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates those who have completed their B.V.Sc along with a master’s in the relevant field of study can appear for this examination. The eligible candidates are selected for the Doctorial programme on the basis of merit as well as the weightage of marks that has been scored by the candidate in academics and interview. A written test is carried out on a particular subject by the Indian Veterinary Research Institute and it is evaluated for about 60%. About 20% of marks are assessed from interview. The rest of the 20% marks are calculated from the academic score.

How to apply?

The notification inviting the application forms for the admission will be published on the website during the first/second week of March. The application forms can be downloaded from the official website of Indian Veterinary Research Institute. After filling the application forms, it must be submitted along with the demand draft of Rs. 1200/- to ” ICAR, Unit IVRI, IZATNAGAR” The admission brochure and the application form can also be obtained by submitting a demand draft of Rs. 1200/- to the Assistant Administrative Officer and it should be drawn in favour of the “ICAR, Unit IVRI, IZATNAGAR”, payable at State bank of India, Bareilly. The bank draft that is addressed to any other personnel will not be accepted. The completed application forms must be dispatched through post.

Candidate should fill their full name and address in block letters as same as that in the original documents. Special care should be taken while filling the contact number in order to avoid mistakes. The category as well as the date of birth should be mentioned clearly in the provided space. A recent photograph of the candidate should be affixed in the space provided for the same.
