Delhi Road Transport Authority was established under the Road Transport Corporation Act, 1950. The Delhi Road Transport Authority came under the control of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi in the year 1958. The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) was established in the year 1971. The primary objectives of the DTC are to provide well-organized, responsible, cost-effective, and properly managed system of road transport in Delhi and its extended area.

The DTC also aims to achieve a high level operational efficiency and to attain financial self-satisfactoriness. DTC was under the administrative control of the Government of India when it was established. The DTC came under the control of the Government of NCT, Delhi during the year 1996. The DTC includes various departments that include Public relations Department, Traffic Department, Training School, Stores and Purchase Department, Mechanical Wing, etc.

Eligibility:

Age criteria – The upper age limit is 35 years for general candidates, 38 years for OBC candidates and 40 years for Sc/ ST candidates.

Educational qualification and post qualification experience – The candidates must have passed degree in Mechanical or Automobile engineering with First class (second class is accepted for Sc/ ST candidates). They must have also done 2 years MBA degree.
