Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India Ltd. was founded in the year 1957 as a state owned public enterprise. The corporation has its headquarter located at Mumbai, Maharashtra. The corporation is wholly owned by the Government of India and aims to provide export credit insurance support to Indian exporters. The corporation is conttrolled by the Ministry of Commerce. Initially, the corporation was established as Export Risks Insurance Corporation but later it was transformed into Export Credit and Guarantee Corporation Limited.
