Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan is similar to the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan which comes under the administrative control of the Department of School Education and literacy of the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The main aim behind the establishment of this abhiyan is to achieve Universal Access and Quality Secondary Education. The abhiyan also aims to develop the Secondary Education Management Information System and the full responsibility for this has been given to the Department of Education Planning, National University of Educational Planning and Administration. The National Dairy Research Institute was established in 1923. Initially, it was named Imperial Institute of Animal Husbandry and Dairying. It was renamed in 1936 as Imperial Dairy Institute and finally as National Diary Research Institute. The institute offers Ph.D courses in 12 different streams. The institute carries out entrance exam for selecting eligible students to the Ph.D programme in Animal Biotechnology.
