Nagaland University is affiliated to University Grants Commission. The university was established in the year 1994 by the Government of India. The university is located in the state of Nagaland. The university was established as a Central University with four campuses located at Kohima, Diampur, Lumami and Medziphema. There are 47 colleges affiliated to the university. Professor Y. K. Alagh is the Chancellor of the university while Professor B. K. Knwor is the Vice Chancellor. The university is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. Immediately after this, the constitution of Jammu & Kashmir state established the Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission on the 2nd of September 1957.
