Sri Venkateswara University is one among the old Universities of the nation. The university was established in the year 1954 and is located in Tirupati. The university offers around seventy post graduate degree, doctoral, post graduate diploma, and certificate and diploma courses for the aspirants. An aspirant can join the university at any level of his/her education. The university conducts a combined entrance exam for admitting candidates for various post graduate courses. Jawaharlal Nehru University has its urban campus located at New Delhi in an area of 1000 acres. Professor Sudhir Kumar Sopory is the Vice Chancellor of the university while Mr. Yash Pal is the Chancellor. The university has an academic staff of total 550 personnel. This education and research university was established in the year 1969 by an act of Parliament. The university was named after the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The university was founded by Indira Gandhi with the aim of having a premier institution for higher learning and also for promoting research and teaching activities. UP Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Veterinary Science University (DUVASU) and Cattle Research Institute was established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. It was established as the first veterinary college in Asia. The institute was initially named as U. P. College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry. The college was made a constituent college of C. S. Azad University of Agriculture and Technology in the year 1975. Later on, the university was renamed to the U. P. Santhosh University is operating from the National Capital Region (NCR) Delhi in the city of Ghaziabad.
