University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) is a pioneer Energy University that offers technical and management courses on diverse streams. BBA in Auto Marketing, B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering, B.Tech (Energy Systems) + LL.B (Cyber Laws), etc are some of the bachelor degree courses offered. VIT University organizes Masters Entrance Exam (VITMEE) to select candidates in to M.Tech or MCA programs. Candidates who have completed B.E or B.Tech in related stream with at least 50% marks are eligible to apply for M.Tech programmes . The syllabus of VITMEE (Instrumentation Engineering) include subjects like - basics of circuits and measurement systems, control systems and process control, transducers, mechanical measurement and industrial instrumentation, signals, systems and communications and digital electronics.

National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) has invited applications for the post of “Assistant”. The minimum qualification specified for this post is 12th class with at least 60% marks. Graduates in any subjects can also apply. The selection procedure for this post includes an objective type written examination for a total of 250 marks. The main topic areas covered in this entrance exam are – Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, GK, English Language and Computer Knowledge. On qualifying written exam, candidates need to attend a Computer Literacy test followed by a Personal Interview. The tentative date to submit applications for this post is 2nd June, 2013.

Public sector enterprises such as CDIT, CDAC, Rajasthan Public Service Commission, MSTC Limited, and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India often recruit these candidates to the job profile of ‘System Analyst’ and ‘Junior Manager (Systems).
Ph.D holders in streams of engineering or technology can apply for Ramanujan Fellowship program. Candidates who obtain a masters degree in engineering, technology or medicine are also eligible to apply for the same. This fellowship program is given for a period of 5 years and the total amount of scholarship is Rs 75, 000/- per month. Selection process is carried out by the decision of Search –cum- Selection Committee appointed for this purpose.

Through eligibility requirements to join each of the courses differs, admissions are usually done on the basis of entrance test conducted by Thapar University. For M. Tech. (Computer Science and Applications), engineering graduates/M.Sc/MCA holders can apply. Entrance test conducted for admission to the course comprises of 75 questions which must be completed within time duration of 1 and half hours.
