Rajasthan Public Service Commission was resulted after an ordinance was promugalted on August 16, 1949. Initially, the commission started off with only one Chairman and two members. Sir S. K. Ghosh was the first chairman of the commission. In order to regulate the working of the commission, two regulations were issued under the provisions of the COnstitution of India named The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (Conditions of Service) Regulation, 1951 and The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (Limitation of Functions) Regulation, 1951.
