Punjab Technical University (P.T.U), Jalandhar, was established in the year 1997 to provide the students advance technical education. There are more than 300 colleges that come under this university and provide various courses such as engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Architecture, Medical Lab Technologies etc and have strength of 3.25 lac students approximately. Power System is a vital subject in electrical engineering as it deals with the generation, transmission and distribution of electric power including electrical devices connected to such systems.

Sectional Division In The Paper

There are three sections in this paper and all the questions are aligned serially.

Expected Pattern Of The Question Paper

There are three groups in this paper, group A,B and C respectively. The first group contains ten short answer questions. In this section all the question are compulsory. The second group i,e group B contains five questions and the candidate is required to answer any four out of those five . The third section contains only long answer questions and the questions have sub parts. There are a total of three questions out of which any two questions are to be attempted.

Marks Allocation

The entire paper is of sixty marks. The first section, which is the compulsory section having no choices, carries twenty marks. Each question carrying two marks respectively. The second section is also of twenty marks where any four questions are to be answered and each question carries five marks. The last section is of twenty marks too. Any two questions are to be answered of ten marks each.

Time Duration

The paper carries hundred marks and the time is restricted to three hours.
