Sir Syed College is located in the Taliparamba Municipality of the district of Kannur in Kerala state. The college was formed in the year 1967 because of the efforts of a socially committed team of people for setting up a center for higher education in the area of Taliparamba. The college was formally inaugurated by the former Chief Minister of the state. The university was given the name in honor of Sir Syed Ahamed Khan, who was a great Muslim social-educational reformer. The college has been approved by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council with B+ level status.

Courses Offered:

The college is offering under graduation and post graduation courses by following semester pattern of examination. The college offers a total of twelve under graduation courses and four post-graduation courses. The list of courses offered by the college is given below:

Facilities:

The college campus is having a library, which is fully computerized with a collection over 30000 books and over 100 periodicals and national and international journals. The library also includes other facilities like scanning, printing, internet browsing and photocopying.

Aim of the college:

The aim of the college is the moral and educational upliftment of the rurally backward people in general and Muslim minority in particular.
