Smt. Veeramma Gangasiri College for women is an arts, science and commerce college established in the year 1965 and it is affiliated to Karnataka State Women University located at Bijapur. The college holds the pride of being the first college for women in the whole Hyderabad Karnataka Area and the college has also received B++ status from NAAC. The college was established by Hyderabad Karnatak Education Society with the huge donation received from Mr. Basawanappa Gangasiri and because of this the college was named after his mother Smt. Veeramma Gangasiri.

Courses Offered:

The college is offering Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree courses. Apart from these courses, the college is also offering some specialized courses in CND, Home Science, Electronics, Biotechnology and microbiology. The college provides Pre-University Courses in the streams of arts, science and commerce as well.

Qualification Requirements:

For getting admission to the pre-university course offered by the college, the students must have completed SSLC or any other board examination approved by Pre-University Board of Karnataka. For the UG courses, the candidates must have completed their higher secondary examination from a recognized institution.

Objectives of the College:

Smt. Veeramma Gangasiri College for Women was established with the objectives of inculcating spiritual, social, moral and ethical values to women students in all aspects of life. The college also aims to bring the harmonious collaboration of academic excellence thereby enabling career development for women, to enable women to get all round development and to train girls as career women with the essence of close and strong knit to society and family.

Activities of the College:

The college is making the students to participate actively in social service through the NSS wing and the students are also motivated to join the NCC group, which enables them to obtain overall development.
