Profile:

Northern Railway is a part of Indian Railways which is one of the 16 zones of the Indian Railways. The headquarter of the northern railway is located at New Delhi Railway Station. This railway zone came into existence as a result of the merging of Jodhpur Railway, Eastern Punjab Railway, Bikaner Railway and three divisons of the East Indian Railway. Northern Railway has its zonal headquarter located at New Delhi and its divisional headquarters located at Harayana, Delhi, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Northern Railway is termed or considered as the biggest one in terms of network which covers route of approximately 6800 kilometre.

Job Profile:

Applications are invited from eligible Sportsperson to fill up all the 12 posts against Open Market Qouta in Sports. Candidates will be selected on various divisions or units in Northern Railway in the game of Kabaddi and Boxing.

Eligibility:

Interested candidates must fulfill all the elibility criterias such as age limit, educational qualification etc. Candidates must be within the age limit set for the post of Sportsperson in Northern Railway Sports Association. The sports person should be minimum of 18 to 25 years of age as on 1 July 2011. No age relaxations for SC/ST/OBC candidates are permissible.

Educational Qualification:

Matriculation is the minimum educational qualification required for the post of Sportsperson in Northern Railway Sports Association. This minimum educational qualification is need to be attained by the interested candidates in order to become eligible to apply for the specified post. No relaxation in minimum educational qualification is permissible.

No. of posts: Total 12 posts are available.

Game of Kabaddi (Women) - 10 posts.
Game of Boxing (Men) - 2 posts.

Pay Scale: Selected candidates will be provided the salary under the Pay Band-1 i.e. Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs. 1900 or Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs. 2000 or Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs. 2400 or Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs. 2800. The grade pay of the candidates depends on the norms for recruitment.

Selection Process:

Candidates will be selected on the basis of their sports acheivement ( as per norms ). Also the sports trials will be followed by a personality test of each and every candidates. Preference will be given to sportsperson having higher level of sports achievements, within the prescribed ports norms.
