Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) was initially established in the year 1962 at Hissar. Later, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University was set up once again on August 9, 2005 at Ludhiana. The major objective behind the establishment of the university was to serve the society by promoting the livestock production, health and prevention of diseases through organising some teaching programmes. One of the major objective of the university is to undertake research work in selected areas.
