Staff Selection Commission was initially incorporated with the name of Subordinate Services Commission under Government of India. The commission was set up on July 1, 1976 and started functioning under the Department of Personnel & Training. The commissin actually came into existence for making recruitment on zonal basis for non technical Group C posts under the Central Government. 1. Recruitment of Surveillance Assistants:

Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 27 years.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2400.
