Tezpur University, which was established in the year 1994, is one of the central universities in India. It is a public university offering education through different schools like school of engineering, management science, humanities & social science and science & technology. The main aim of the university is to offer employment oriented courses and inter-disciplinary courses particularly at the PG level to meet the educational requirements of the people of Assam.

Recruitment by Tezpur University:

Tezpur University has invited applications from eligible candidates for teaching positions to offer education under different subjects offered by the university. Some of the details regarding the advertisement notification issued by the university in this regard are given below:

Name of the positions: Teaching positions (Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor)

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 47, which is divided as 12 vacancies for SC, 11 vacancies for ST candidates, 06 for OBC candidates, 4 for PWD candidates and the remaining vacancies are for general category candidates.

Pay scale: Pay scales for the positions are:

• Professor: Rs. 37,400-67,000/- (PB-4) plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 10,000/-

• Associate Professor : Rs. 37,400-67,000/- (PB-4) plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 9,000/-

• Assistant Professor : Rs. 15,600-39,100/- (PB-3) plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6,000/-

The above pay bands carry other allowances admissible as per Government of India rules.

Educational Qualification: The teaching positions are available in departments like for Center for Assamese Studies, Physics, Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, Mathematical Sciences, Environmental Science, Chemical Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Food Processing Technology, Energy, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Civil Engineering, English & Foreign Languages, Sociology, Mass Communication & Journalism, Cultural Studies and Business Administration. Selection Procedure:

Final Selection of candidates will be in accordance with the current rules and regulations issued by the AICTE and UGC.

Application fee:

Application fee need not be paid at the time of submission of application. However, if a candidates is invited for interview, he/she will have to submit an application fee of Rs.500 (SC/ST candidates are exempted) in the form of DD drawn in any nationalized banks in favor of the Registrar, Tezpur University payable at Tezpur.
