NET or National Eligibility Test is the national level entrance examination for post graduates candidates. Candidates, who wish to qualify for university level teaching jobs in India, appear in this examination. The University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts this NET to determine the eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship. The Examination is conducted in Humanities, Social science, Forensic science, Environmental Science, Computer science and Applications and Electronic science. Clearing of NET Examination confers eligibility for lectureship upon Indian nationals, i.e. the NET qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the post of lecturer in all Indian universities/Institutes/colleges.

About The Paper

NET Physical Education is one of the many papers under the NET. This exam is important because India needs teaching professionals in the field of sports. There are eight (8) units under this subject which includes topics like Aim and objective of physical education, psychological and sociological basis of physical education, physiology of human body, joints and planes, kinetics and kinematics, learning process theories, professional course in sports and physical education, leadership in sports and finally knowledge about various games and sports.

How many sections are there in this paper?

There are no such sections and all the questions are aligned serially.

Paper pattern and number of questions asked:

There are a total of fifty (50) objective-type questions. Candidates have to attempt each and every question. The paper consists of multiple types, matching type, true or false, assertion and reasoning type questions along with some questions based on reading comprehension.

Division of marks:

The entire paper is of one hundred (100) marks. Each question carries two (2) marks.

Maximum time allotted:

The maximum time allotted is one hour and fifteen minutes (1 hr and 15 min).
