As the name of the college implies Arts and Commerce College for Women belongs to the B.L.D.E Association and the college was established by the association in the year 1983 realizing the need for an institution for Women-education in the northern part of the state of Karnataka. Initially, the college began its operations with arts faculty alone and in the following year (i.e.) in the year 1984, commerce faculty was introduced. The college offers these courses with affiliation from the Karnatak State Women University located in Bijapur.

Bachelor of Arts:

The Bachelor of Arts course offered by the college constitutes of three-year duration with six semesters. In this course, English and Kannada/Hindi or Sanskrit is offered as basic subjects and the following combinations of subjects are available:

In the first semester of the course, Indian Constitution is offered as compulsory subject, in the second semester human rights & environmental studies is offered as compulsory subject, while in the third and fourth semesters personality development & communication skills are offered as compulsory subject.

Bachelor of Commerce:

The duration of this course is also three-years divided into six semesters for the first two semesters of the course English and Hindi/Kannada are offered as language subjects and Indian Constitution and Business Communication Skills are offered as compulsory subjects respectively for the first and second semesters. There are four core subjects and six core subjects for first two semesters, while for the remaining semesters seven papers are offered as core subjects.

Eligibility requirement:

For seeking admission to the first-year of the degree courses offered by B.L.D.E. Association’s Arts and Commerce College for Women, candidates must have completed their two-year Pre-University examination from the state board of Karnataka or any other equivalent examination.

How to apply:

Immediately after the declaration of higher secondary results in the state of Karnataka, women candidates, who wish to get admission to this college, will have to approach the admission clerk in the college office and should get the application form. After getting the application form, they will have to consult the admission committee for selecting the subject combination and then will have to fill the form after deciding the subject combination and should submit it along with documents required by the institution and prescribed fee.
