Pathology is the precise study and diagnosis of disease. Pathology addresses 4 components of disease: cause/etiology, mechanisms of development (pathogenesis), structural alterations of cells (morphologic changes), and the consequences of changes (clinical manifestations). The paper is very scoring and it sometimes appears tough due to various terms and terminologies.

Why you need to study this subject in MBBS?

A pathologist is a physician (with an M.D. or D.O. medical degree) who leads the examination of the tissue and organ samples and coordinates or communicates with the primary care physician to ultimately determine a diagnosis of disease or cause of death.

What paper pattern you can expect?

The paper is subdivided into two parts: Part A has three compulsory questions in which one is short answer type, one is short notes type in which there are sub questions and the third question is long answer type. Part B also has got three questions and the short notes question carry equal marks for all the sub questions, while the other two are descriptivetype. The paper is so set as to judge the ability of the candidate .It is slightly tough but scoring one.

How much time and marks are allotted for this particular paper?

The paper gives the opportunity to candidates to score 50 marks and time duration for the paper is 3 hours only.
