Diploma holders who have pursued 12th standard are eligible to appear in NDA examination and those who have directly joined Diploma course after completion of their 10th standard are not eligible to appear in NDA examination. Candidates who have completed 12th standard from a recognised board are eligible to appear in NDA examination. Eligibility criteria required to appear in NDA examination is mentioned below :-

1. You must be a citizen of India.

2. Educational Qualification :-
--> For Army Wing :- You must have completed 12th standard or equivalent from a recognised board.
--> For Air Force and Naval Wings :- You must have completed 12th standard or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics subjects from a recognised board.

3. You must have attained the minimum age of 16 1/2 years and must not have crossed the maximum age of 19 years.

4. You must be an Unmarried Male candidate

5. You must be Physically fit as per physical standards mentioned in the UPSC NDA examination notification.

No, it is not at all possible for Diploma students to join National Defense Academy or Naval Academy with the above mentioned qualification. Yes, the minimum educational qualification required to be eligible for applying NDA is "12th Class" from a recognized university only in 10+2 pattern and Not in 10+3 pattern.

Intermediate (10+2 Class) Candidates - Eligible

Diploma (10+3 Class) Candidates - Not Eligible

I can clearly say that candidates those who complete their 12th Class only in 10+2 pattern are eligible, hence I am sorry to say that you are not eligible to join NDA Exam.

Eligibility Criteria required to Join NDA:

>> Minimum 12th Class (in 10+2 pattern) from a recognized university

>> Minimum age Required - 16.5 years

>> Maximum age Allowed - 19 years

>> There is no age relaxation for reserved or unreserved candidates

>> Only Unmarried male candidates are eligible to join NDA.
