It is good to see that you are aspiring for higher studies and that too abroad. This will definitely give you a new experience thereby shaping your personality. It will not only enhance your concepts and give a better learning but also give a better exposure.

There is no letter proforma as such to ask for loan from the bank for higher studies. You need to follow certain procedure to get the education loan which involves discussions with the branch manager of the concerned where you are approaching for loan. You need to follow the following steps.

--> Approach the bank from where you want to take a loan or a bank where you have an account.

--> Have a discussion with the branch manager regarding your education loan.

--> Some banks like SBI has administrative officers for this purpose.

--> The branch manager will give you certain instructions, on following them your education loan will be sanctioned.

--> You need to furnish all the necessary documents to the bank regarding your
admission and the institute where you want to seek admission.

--> After furnishing the documents and fulfilling other norms as directed by branch manager, the branch manager will give you certain documents concerning your loan where you and your guardian/parent need to sign.

--> Finally after completing these steps your loan will be sanctioned.

You need to visit the nearest bank branch where you and family members hold accounts. Your merit score will decide the sanctioning part as bank officials check the borrower’s credibility. Spanning from graduate, postgraduate and doctoral level programs in India, students can get loans. If your course fee is between Rs 4 lakh to Rs 7.5 lakh, you need a guarantor who promises to pay the amount in case you fail to pay back the loan. The branch manager will instruct you about the education loan sanctioning process.
