For engineering aspirant a rank below 5000 may be expected but for a medical aspirant a rank within 1000 is to be expected.

Friend , if you appeared in Entrance Exam for first time ,the best advice is don't go for admission this time try for next year for a better college.

As a 4Th year student, i can say it is better to take a year break than going for a 3rd class colleges(colleges whose closing rank is below 15000).This college can't provide good campusing.
