yes, unfortunately that will be a problem afterwards or your form may get rejected as you dont fit in the eligibility criteria of IIM's but it can be taken into consideration later on after a long debate but i will suggest you that if you are confident enough then you should give CAT exam..
good luck...& all the very best even if IIM's don't take you, still then you will gain a lot of confidence... but i hope they will .... byee take care.. prepare well.. |

Hi,
Your 12th marks do have an effect on the selection in IIM bcz, they want a consistent performance throughout your career but this is one side. If you consider IIMA had the following cutoff criteria previous year CAT SCORE - 12 marks 10 th - 2 marks (if above 80 %) 12 th - 2 marks ( if above 80 %) engg - 4 marks work ex - 4 marks ( for < 2 year - 2 marks) So in total if you dont perform in 12th you lose 2 marks but you can get remaing 22 marks and the cutoff was 19 marks for IIIMA and 17 for IIMB. So you always have a chance |

Quote:
The minimum eligibility criteria for appearing in the CAT exam is to score 50% or above in your graduation..that's it..so you are surely eligible for appearing in the CAT (Common Admission Test) But..this is going to be a hindrance while admissions into the IIMs as they also consider the 12th percentage and you have to score exceedingly well in the CAT exam to get overshadow your 12th performance.. all the best.. ![]() With Warm Regards "Nitz" |

It will not be a major problem for you if you don't have 60% in 12th.
The eligibility for admission in IIMs is graduation from any branch with minimum 50% marks from a recognised university. So just try to crack the cut-offs of CAT. |
