Re: IIM admission without 60% PCM in 12th standard?
yes, unfortunately that will be a problem afterwards or your form may get rejected as you dont fit in the eligibility criteria of IIM's but it can be taken into consideration later on after a long debate but i will suggest you that if you are confident enough then you should give CAT exam..
good luck...& all the very best even if IIM's don't take you, still then you will gain a lot of confidence... but i hope they will .... byee take care.. prepare well.. |

sorry my friend, if you dont get 60% marks , then there is no chance to get admisiion in IIM, because to get admission in IIM you have to get above 60% marks.

Re: IIM admission without 60% PCM in 12th standard?
dear friend,
if you haven't score 60% in your PCM,the interviewers would put up the question which you need to justify it rightly about not being able to score more than 60% . for this you need to check the total pecentage of marks including other subject as well. and if you good in that then it will not matter in IIM. |

Re: IIM admission without 60% PCM in 12th standard?
hi friend
there is no such rule that you must get 60% in 12 standard.you need to score more than 99 percentile in CAT exam.only then also they look for an experienced one.so if you are the one then go for it. |

hey CAT never consider your 12th marks.....the admission in IIM is tatally based on your marks which you have obtained in the CAT exam.......so dont worry about your 12th marks and try to score more marks in CAT exam....

Re: IIM admission without 60% PCM in 12th standard?
Dear friend,
It will not be a major problem for you if you don't have 60% in 12th. The eligibility for admission in IIMs is graduation from any branch with minimum 50% marks from a recognised university. So just try to crack the cut-offs of CAT. Best of luck! |

Re: IIM admission without 60% PCM in 12th standard?
Dear friend
do not be dishearten,to appear in the CAT exam ,the eligibility is only to secure 60% marks in graduation in aggregate. If you will do better in the CAT exam then your +2 marks will not be considered. So, prepare for CAT with full of enthusiasm. Best of luck |

Re: IIM admission without 60% PCM in 12th standard?
hi friend,
IIM's CAT exam is only concerned with the marks in graduation only not with marks obtained in 12th and even specifically in PCM subjects since it is not a technical appearance exam. It is good that if you clear CAT exam, this would not even make any hurdle in selection in exam. |

Re: IIM admission without 60% PCM in 12th standard?
Hey there's nothing to do with the marks scored in 12th.To be eligible for CAT then you need to secure at least 50% in your graduation level. If your from reserved Category then you just need 45% in your graduation level.
So,prepare well for your CAT exam.If you get good marks in CAT then you need to go through the interview conducted in IIM's where they can ask about your poor performance in 12th.But if you got a good answer for it then there is not much trouble. all the best |

Re: IIM admission without 60% PCM in 12th standard?
hi,
some say 60% is required as minimum for getting a call from iim after you fulfill the 99 percentile condition.though i have a pretty good percentage during my 10th-84% and in 12th it was 68%..in graduation it was 81%..i have the information that even if one scores 99 percentile in cat,but you need to have atleast 70% to get a call from iima,is that so??since i do not fulfill the eligibility criteria in my 12th..i am talking only about iima..kindly reply.. eshita sahay |

Re: IIM admission without 60% PCM in 12th standard?
In present scenario Acads have gained mountainous weight-age in IIM admissions..
Even if you getting very high CAT percentile you will probably not get a call since you wont have good wiegted score .. and if you get a call you will face difficulty justyfying 60%..and others with high percentage will get selected.. my suggestio would be to lower your aspirations and try for other colleges rather than hurting youself after CAT/IIMs |

Re: IIM admission without 60% PCM in 12th standard?
Respected All,
I've started hating my self, I got just 64% in 12th (82% in 10th) and 74% in BE ( 3.5 GPA).I am working in MNC (10 months exp). I am not able to prepare for CAT due to my low marks in 12th. I envisaged that IIM wud be just a dream for me. There is a family reason for my low percentage in 12th but I know no one will listen to me. Please help me out. Please give me some source where i can find guys who got addmission in past two years, with low percentage in 12th. |

Re: IIM admission without 60% PCM in 12th standard?
No, it will not create any significant problem if you did not get at least 60% in 12th board.
But you must have at least 60% in your graduation. The better your record is, the higher the chances of your admission to IIM. You must not have any backlog. It will create a bad impression on interviewers. |

If ur record in Bachelors degree is good, then it wont be a big problem...but even if after 12th ur academic performance was not god, then I am sorry, they will kick u out even if u get 100%...If u r good with extracurricular activity, it will be a point for u

Re: IIM admission without 60% PCM in 12th standard?
It will not be a big problem if ur Bachelors record is good...but even if ur academic performance is poor after 12th, then u r sure to get kicked out even if u score 100%...They need the greatest brain from the country who are determent & hardworking and not the genius one who studies at last moment and scores 100, thats the reason they see ur 10th, 12th and graduation record and THIS IS THE REASON WHY 12TH REPORT CARD IS CONSIDERED VERY IMPORTANT....if u have some other talent like any sport or general knowledge or any currcular activity which u feel u r better then the rest and is genuine, it will be + point for u.....all the best for CAT...its not easy getting 99 there
