Hello friend,
To get job in the public sector, you will have to qualify certain examinations conducted by different commissions like UPSC and SSC.
As you have mentioned that you are pursuing BE, you may apply for engineering service exam conducted by UPSC after qualifying your final year exam.
By qualifying the exam, you will be appointed in the engineering department of your relevant field in defense forces, railway etc.
To write the exam, you must not be over 30 years.
Minimum eligible age is 21 years.

However, there are many other examinations conducted by UPSC and SSC which you can appear for.
Some of them are:
Civil Service Exam
Combined Defense Service Exam
Combined Graduate Level Exam

There are many government sector jobs which you can apply for after completing the B.E course. You may attend UPSC and SSC exams for a suitable position. By attempting these exams you can apply for jobs mainly in the railways, defense, and civil services namely. You can also attend the exams conducted by various PSU’s. This can be mainly for job positions in the PSU’s such as BHEL, SAIL, NTPC, ISRO, DRDO etc. Banks are also a good option and the candidates can write IBPS or other similar sort of exams to become a P.O., specialist officer or a clerk.
