Hello Sir, I would like to know about the age limit for physically handicapped candidates who are willing to apply for Government jobs. Can I know about the age limit as I have heard that such candidates will get age relaxation.

There are various department and companies in government sector and age limit vary from one post to another and one company to another. According to the posts and educational qualification, there are different age limits set for different examinations

Different government jobs have different upper age limits ranging from 24 to 40 years for general category. However, there will be additional 5 years age relaxation for SC, ST and ex-servicemen candidates and OBC candidates can avail additional relaxation of 3 years. For widow/divorced women/ women judicially separated from their husbands; the upper age limit is relaxable by 7-10 years.

There is an extra upper age relaxation of 10 years for Physical Handicapped candidates. For example in case of Civil Services exam, the general age limit is 21-32 years.

The upper age limit for PH general category candidates is 42 years. It is 45 years for OBC and 47 years for SC/ST candidates.

There are different upper age limit for different government job entrance exams. There is extra ten years upper age relaxation for physically handicapped candidates.

If the general age limit is 32 years, then upper age limit for physically handicapped candidates it is 42 years. Similarly, there is three years extra for OBC and five years for SC/ST candidates.

The age limit for physically handicapped candidates in government sector:

General age limit: 21-30 years or 32 years in most of government jobs.

The upper age criteria for Physically handicapped candidates is relaxed by 10 years in addition to OBC and SC/ST candidates.

** PSU BANK: 21-40.

** Railway: 21-45 years.

** UPSC Civil Services: 21-37 years.

** BSNL:General: 21-40 years.
