Can Arts student are eligible to apply for Merchant Navy course with a private institute? Or, Diploma course in Marine Engineering? Please confirm can I do any of these courses with Arts background or not?

No, the Arts student cannot join Merchant Navy.
Only candidates who has passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry & mathematics as subject with minimum 55% marks or any other equivalent or higher academic course pursued from a recognized university.

To apply in Merchant Navy course you must have passed your 12th with science stream and there is no other option. Infact physics, chemistry and mathematics are compulsory subjects.
