Re: Am I eligible for group I and Civil service exams?
Educational Qualifications :
Graduates in any discipline from a recognised university. Candidates having professional and technical qualifications recognised by the government are also eligible. Those who have appeared in the final year but do not have the result can also apply but they would have to produce proof of passing the exam with their application for the Main Exam. you qualify that but unfortunately you have exceeded you age limit for the exam but if you are a OBC candidate the age limit is relaxed to some extent i.e 3 years but yyou also excced that so i have to say sorry that you are ineligible for the exam .. but still good luck for your career and future... |

Re: Am I eligible for group I and Civil service exams?
Hello,
Though according to academic qualification you are eligible, but the problem is your age. The candidate should not be more than 30 yrs of age as on 1st august of the yr in which he is appearing. As you have crossed the age limit, therefore you are not eligible. Age Limits : (a) Candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st August of the year in which examination is being held. (b) The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable: (i) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe. (ii) upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates. (iii) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during a particular period (iv) upto a maximum of three years in the case of Defence Services personnel disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof. (v) upto a maximum of five years in the case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service as on the 1st August of the year in which examination is being held and have been released (i) on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from the 1st August of the year in which examination is being held) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency, or (ii) on account of physical disability attributable to Military Service, or (iii) on invalidment. (vi) upto a maximum of five years in the case of ECOs/SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment of five years Military Service as on the 1st August of the year in which examination is being held and whose assignment has been extended beyond five years and in whose case the Ministry of Defence issues a certificate that they can apply for civil employment and that they will be released on three month's notice on selection from the date of receipt of offer of appointment. (vii) upto a maximum of 10 years in the case of blind, deaf-mute and Orthopaedically handicapped persons. However there are exceptions as mentioned. If you fall in any category, then you might be eligible. Sorry! |

Re: Am I eligible for group I and Civil service exams?
Hi,
You are not eligible for the exams as you have crossed the age limit. Even if you add the relaxation age then also you are not eligible as you are above 35 years which is the max relaxation. |

Re: Am I eligible for group I and Civil service exams?
your graduation is good enough for civil services exam.
but your age is problem. you have exceeded the maximum age limit allowed so you are not eligible. Eligibility criteria: Nationality: indian or indian by origin Academic: minimum a bachelors degree from any recognized university in any discipline Age:minimum of 21 years and maximum of 30 years(Upper age limit relaxation is available for OBC-3years, SC/ST-5years) numbers of attempts: OC-4, OBC-7 and SC/ST-no limit you have crossed the upper age limit and also the relaxation given for your category of 3years. so you cannot apply for these exams. |

Re: Am I eligible for group I and Civil service exams?
Hi friend,
the age limit for UPSC and Group-1 is 21-30 years for General Candidates. age relaxation is given to OBC, SC, ST, PHC and Ex Service men. Age Relaxation for different categories is as follows: for OBC it is 3 years. for SC,St it is 5 years. for PHC it is 10 years. so with your age i could say that you have crossed the age limit. |
