hello friend,

IFS: Indian Forest Service exam which is conducted by UPSC.

the eligibility criteria for this exam is as follows:

*) the candidate should be a citizen of India.

*) the age limit should between 21 to 30 years.

*) the candidate should pursue bachelor's degree in animal husbandry, botany, zoology, geology or, bachelor's degree in agriculture or engineering.


so, you are eligible in educational qualification.

Indian Forest Service (IFS) to became an IFS officer one has to appear Civil Service Exam & have to crack this exam there are certain eligibility criteria which are as follows....

**The candidates should be a graduate from a recognize university.
**The candidates should be a citizen of India.
**The age limit is 21 - 30 yrs,
There is age relaxation for reserved candidates.

Hi Guest,

Any graduate who has completed his/her graduation is eligible to apply for IFS.

In order to become an IFS officer you need to apply for Civils Exam.

After successfully writing the exam and getting good score you will be called for the interview and then can crack the interview and go for the job.

The exam is a nation wide and you need to prepare well for the exam so that you can get the job easily.

I suggest you to go through the notification in detail so that you can observe if there are any changes in the examination.

Name of Civil Services : IFS (Indian Foreign Service)

Exam Date : Prelim in 1st week of May & Mains in 2nd week of Oct

Eligibility Criteria :

1.Age limit
21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs

2.Number of Attempts
Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.

3.Restrictions on applying for the examination:
A candidate who is appointed to the Indian Administrative Service or the Indian Foreign Service on the results of an earlier examination and continues to be a member of that service will not be eligible to compete at this examination.

Yes you are eligible to sit for the IFS Examination.

IFS stands for Indian Forest Service. To recruit officers in the Indian Forest Service the IFS Exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.

Candidates who are selected are sent to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy. For specialized training later you will be sent to the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, Dehradun.

Eligibility Criteria:-
  • You need to be a citizen of India
  • You need to hold a B.Sc degree in mathematics, chemistry, botany, zoology, geology, statistics, veterinary science and animal husbandry to be considered eligible.
  • It will do if you have a degree in engineering, agriculture or forestry.
  • Interested candidates are also considered eligible if they have a bachelor's degree in medicine or surgery.
  • On the 1st of July of that year your age should not be less than 21 years and it should not exceed 30 years too if you are a general category candidate.
  • Upper age limit for OBC Candidate is relaxed by thee years, of SC/ST candidates by five years and of PWD Candidates by 10 years.

How To Apply?

Registration can be done either online or offline. You can log into the official website of UPSC and then fill up the online application form and complete the formality.

There are however candidates residing in the remote areas and for them registration through offline mode is available. They can purchase the form from designated Head post offices/post offices throughout the country by paying Rs. 30/-.

Exam Pattern:-

Total Marks:- 1400
Interview Marks:- 300

Compulsory Papers:-
  • Paper I- General English- 300 marks
  • Paper II- General Knowledge- 300 marks

Optional Papers:-

Paper III- First Optional Subject Paper 1- 200 marks
Paper IV- First Optional Subject Paper 2- 200 marks
Paper V- Second Optional Subject Paper 1- 200 marks
Paper VI- Second Optional Subject Paper 2- 200 marks

Yes, But only if You are in the final year of B.Tech !!!!

IFS stands for the Indian Forest Service. This examination is being conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year for the Recruitment of Indoan Forest Officer......

The Exam is being conducted by UPSC under the Civil Service Examination. you have to face 6 papers Paper - I, Paper - II, Paper - III, Paper - -IV, Paper - V and Paper - VI.....

Paper - I and Paper - II are of 300 marks and the rest of Papers are 200 marks of each.....

300 Marks for the Personal Interview......


Eligibility and Criteria:-


A candidate should be at least Graduate in Engineering or Agriculture field....

A candidate who have completed their B.Sc in Zoology, Botany, Chemistry Geology etc. can also applicable for it.....

Age of candidate should be between 21 to 30 years....

Relaxation for OBC 3 years on upper age....

For SC/ST 5 years on upper age provided.....

Attempt Limit:-


General Category - Max. 4 Times.
OBC Category - Max. 7 Times.
SC/ST Category - No Limit.
