sir is diploma holder is eligible for iit jee....please tell me if i am eligible

Unfortunately you are not eligible. You can neither appear for IIT-JEE or the AIEEE entrance exam. In fact the Common Entrance Exam for Engineering starting next year called the ISEET is also off limits for you.


The reason is that to appear for any of these entrance exam, you need to complete 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the subjects. Those who have completed diploma course are not eligible because diploma in Engineering is done after completing the 10th standard.


However it does not mean that you can not get admission for B.Tech course. You can get admission but not through the AIEEE or IIT-JEE entrance exam. The procedure for diploma in Engineering candidates to get admission for B.Tech is called Lateral Entry Scheme.


What lateral entry scheme means is that candidates who have completed diploma in Engineering or the B.Sc graduation can get admission in the second year of B.Tech course. The B.Tech course which is four years long is only 3 years long for the lateral entry candidates.


Therefore instead of preparing for the Engineering entrance exams, you should take admission via lateral entry. Almost every single engineering college in India offer lateral entry. However there are some exceptions like the IITs. Mainly colleges reserve 10 to 15 per cent seats for the lateral entry candidates.


The procedure to get admission is little different. If you have performed well in diploma course then some colleges would give you direct admission. However you would require to secure at least 60 percent marks in diploma course. Some colleges may even give admission to candidates with 50 percent marks. However there are very few colleges who would do that.


The other mode of admission include appearing for the entrance exam. While some colleges conducts their own entrance exam for lateral entry admission, others give admission on the basis of candidate's performance in the LEET entrance exam. LEET stands for the Lateral Entry Engineering Test.

and remain same subject in 12th also

after clearing 12th class you are eligible for giving the exam


--i suggest you to hire a good coaching from 11th class itself , because school studies is not let you clear iit-jee

--you have ability to solve difficult question in minutes

and this ability is generate from coaching only


age limit:

you should have born on or after 1 october 1987


you should have score at least 60% in 12th class

no dear , you are not eligible for the IIT_JEE exam after completing diploma.

only those candidates who are in 12th or who have passed 12th can appear for this exam.

you can get admission directly into the second year of engineering as you are a diploma candidates.

SORRY....YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO GIVE IIT -JEE EXAM.

eligibility criteria :-

1. you must be appearing in 12th class / may have passed 12th class with minimum 60 % marks in (PCM ) ,if you are a general/OBC categorised student .

2.you must be appearing in 12th class / may have passed 12th class with minimum 55 % marks in (PCM ) ,if you are a SC/ST/PH candidate .

3. your age limit must be 17-25 years .

4. you can only apply for IIT-JEE twice in the twoconsecutive years .

Hello Sir, I am doing diploma in Architectural Assistantship. Now i'm in third year. Sir, am i eligible for IIT? I had completed 12th [PCM] in 2013 from U.P. Board and I scored 74.2%.

I have completed my diploma in civil ..can I applied JEE main exam....

I am sorry to say that it is not possible for a diploma student to get an admission any any IIT. This is because to be eligible to give the entrance for IIT, a student must have passed 12th standard.
I guess this is very important because in IIT there is high level of mathematics involved from 1st year onwards and one must be able to comprehend with maths which the diploma students are unable to do.
Thus you cannot join an IIT for graduation try your best for M.Tech.
