Is there any entrance exam to get Govt. Job after complition of Engg in ECE branch.

There are several government job opportunities after the completion of engineering in ECE branch. You can apply various competitive entrance examinations which are held for recruiting the qualified candidates in to the government sector. You can apply for the GATE exam, Civil Service exams etc. for getting in to jobs. Banking is another important sector where in the candidates can apply for jobs. Also one can attend the RRB exam and also apply for jobs in Telecom sector such as BSNL etc.

You can appear for the Indian Engineering Service (IES) after completing the Bachelor of Technology course. The Electronics and Communication Engineers are eligible to appear for this exam.

The Indian Engineering Service is conducted by Union Public Service Commission. It is quite a difficult entrance exam to clear. But it offers good reputed jobs in government sector that are desired by almost all the Engineering graduates in the country.

The jobs are given in government departments. Some examples are:

(1) Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers

(2) Indian Railway Stores Service

(3) Indian Inspection Service

(4) Indian Naval Armament Service

(5) Indian Ordnance Factories Service (IOFS)

(6) Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (EME), a branch in the Indian Army

(7) Wireless Planning and Co-ordination Wing

(8) Indian Navy

(9) Indian Supply Service (Directorate General of Supply and Disposals)

(10) Indian Telecommunication Service



Eligibility Criteria

1. Nationality: Citizen of India

2. Education: B.Tech or B.E degree from recognized college.

3. Percentage: No criteria

4. Age: No less than 21 years and no more than 30 years.

5. Relaxation OBC: 3 years in upper age limit.

6. Relaxation SC/ST: 5 years in upper age limit.

7. Final year students are eligible as well.
