Books for IIT-JEE First of all be completely thorough with your NCERT books because for the past few years..direct questions from the course books have been coming.. after that..for higher preparations..you can go for.. 1)M.L.Khanna for Maths 2)P.Bahadur for Physical Chemistry 3)Concepts of Physics and also solve past IIT and AIEEE papers which will let you know about the pattern and the level of the examinations.. if you do this much properly and solve all the numericals of these books then you can surely achieve a good rank in any entrance exam you appear for..even if it is IIT-JEE ~Hope this helps.. ~ With Warm Regards "Nitz" |

Re: Best books to be followed for IIT JEE?
Hi friend.
-any competative exam needs your hardwork and preparation beyond anything else.it is not mandatory to join a coaching centre. But you will be wrong if you think that you can crack the exams like iit in the last few months of preparation.it requires years of preparations.. So you must prepare from right now follow these books for pcm .these shall be very useful to you. Maths: R.d.sharma (for theory and practice) and purushottem kumar-objective (it must be for practice) * physical chemistry: Bharti bhavan publications * organic chemistry: Ncert (must) * inorganic chemistry: Ncert (must) (you need nothing else for preparing this part) * note: Prefer mtg publication monthly magazine also &if are taking coaching from somewhere, then prefer that notes also. * physics: H.c.verma (part 1 & 2 both)(for theory as well as practice) beyond all these , strenthen your concepts from ncert books. All the best |

Re: Best books to be followed for IIT JEE?
Eligibility criteria for IIT JEE-
1.12th with physics, chemistry,Math fron any recognized university. 2.At least 60% marks in 12th. 3.12th from any recognized board. 4.One can give IIT JEE maximum 2 times . If you can satisfy those then you are eligible. To crack IIT JEE you have to give lot of heard work ,because it is one of the toughest exams in INDIA. Best books according to me for IIT JEE- 1.For Math -M.L.Khanna , arihant new pattern 2.For physics -H.C. verma 3.Chemistry - Organic - Morrison and Boyed Physical chemistry -Peter Atkins Inorganic - J.D.Lee With those books also try to solve the modem questions and previous years papers . Thank you |

Re: Best books to be followed for IIT JEE?
There are a number of books to follow for IITJEE available in the book stores but few of them are upto the mark and are perfectly according to IITJEE syllabus and depth.
Following are a list of books that can help your way out to IITs: Physics: NCERT, H.C.Verma, D. C. Pandey Chemistry: NCERT, O P TANDON, PRADEEP OBJECTVE CHEMISTRY. MATHS: NCERT, R.D.SHARMA, ARIHANT Series, M. L. Khanna IMPORTANT: Many may suggest you to go for I.E.IRODOV for physics but I would say that its completely waste of time if you are specifically preparing for IITJEE. As in JEE the level of questions never gets through that level. All the Best |
