IPS Exam is conducted in two stages: Preliminary exam and main exam. Preliminary exam is also called the CSAT exam.

IPS stands for Indian Police Service : This is conducted by the union pubic service commission under the civil services exams and for become a IPS officer then required educational qualifications are you must completed the graduation from recognized university and required age limit should be 21-30 year and here age relaxation for reserved category candidates as per govt rules. If you want to become a IPS officer then you need to write and qualify the testes conducted by the civil services examination they include preliminary examination and main examination and interview. Apart from first conducted the preliminary examination and this exam consists of 2 papers and first paper is general studies and the second paper is optional subject selected by the candidates. After qualifying the preliminary exam called for main examination and this exam consists of 9 papers and in that first 3 papers are general studies papers and remaining all are optional subjects selected by the candidate.
