Re: Can engineering students opt for Maths subject in NET exam?
To become eligible for NET examination one should have a master degree or equivalent
degree. The UGC-NET includes subjects of Humanities and Social Sciences, Forensic Science, Environmental Science, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Sciences etc. The NET for science subjects is conducted by CSIR. NET for Agricultural branches is conducted by ASRB. You can't apply for NET after B.Tech. Yuo can apply for NET after M.Tech. if your B.Tech. course and M.Tech specialization matches with the subjects included in NET. If not, then you should first complete M.Tech. then Ph.D. and after Ph.D., you can apply for lectureship in engineering colleges for teaching in your specialization. |

Re: Can engineering students opt for Maths subject in NET exam?
NET stands for National Eligibility test. NET exam conducted by the upsc once in a year.
The NET exam educational qualification is complete the post graduation from a recognized university. So you are not eligible for this exam after b.tech. The UGC-NET includes subjects of Humanities and Social Sciences, Forensic Science, Environmental Science, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Sciences etc. There is no upper age limit for the candidate. But the junior research fellowship candidates age limit is 19 to 28 years. For the net online registration visit the website http://www.ugcnetonline.in for more information visit this website http://www.ugc.ac.in all the best. |

Re: Can engineering students opt for Maths subject in NET exam?
NET exam is not meant to choose some special subject. This exam is conducted by University Grants Commission (UGC) to determine eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research.
The Test is conducted in Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Forensic Science, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Applications and Electronic Science. So with the engineering background you are not eligible for NET or SLET examination. |
