Can I appear for additional subject exam if completed CBSE 10th around 5 years ago?

Hi everyone, I have completed my 10th around 5 years ago. Now, I want to give the exam for Punjabi which is an additional subject. So, can I give the additional exam now from CBSE Board as I have done 10th from this Board?

As per the CBSE board examination rules, additional subject can be offered within 6 years of passing the examination of the Board provided the additional subject is prescribed in the Scheme of Studies. No exemption from time limit is given after six years. This facility is available at the annual examination only.

So, you can still opt for Punjabi as an optional subject even having completed your Class 10th 5 years ago.

For more details regarding the CBSE examination rules, you can refer to the link www.cbse.nic.in.
