Yes, You can appear for CAT after completion of B.Tech. through Distant Education as there is no specification to be a Graduate through regular mode but the Distant education Institute from which one has completed Graduation, must be a recognised University.
CAT - Common Admission Test is an entrance exam conducted by IIM(Indian Institute of Management) for admission to two years Post Graduation MBA(Master of Business Administration) course in IIMs. The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having completed Graduation Degree in any stream from a recognised University with 50% marks(45% marks for SC/ST candidate). Yes you can appear for CAT-2013 after B.Tech...But you have to be very well prepared for the interview in case you cracked its written and get calls from colleges because at that time interviewers will questioned you on your B.tech that too through distance learning.... CAT- Common Admission Test Yes, you can appear for CAT , as you have done a degree course. CAT requires graduation degree , either form regular or from correspondence mode. Eligibility for CAT – Bachelor’s degree with 50 % minimum marks in aggregate from a recognised university. CAT scores are accepted by all the IIMs and other topmost business schools. Syllabus of CAT – There are two sections of CAT exam – 1. Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation 2. Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning The exam is of 70 questions for 140 minutes. So, since you have done your bachelor’s degree through correspondence, it will be considered and so, you can appear for the exam. |

Distance education degree is non issue to appear for Common Admission Test. If you have completed the course fromr recognized university then you are not likely to face any issue.
As you may know, Common Admission Test is conducted for Master of Business Administration. It is the most popular entrance exam for MBA in India. Although there are several entrance exams. The reason is that Common Admission Test is accepted by the Indian Institutes of Management. The IIMs are the finest and most reputed Business schools in the country. They have consistently topped the list of best MBA collges in India. Therefore anyone who wants to complete MBA from the finest colleges appear for the Common Admission Test. This test is conducted by the IIMs every year in October. Apart from the Indian Institutes of Management, there are several other reputed colleges that also accepts Common Admission Test. If you have got 50% marks in Graduation then you will not have any problem in applying for CAT.

CAT stands for the Common Admission Test.This entrance examination is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management for the selection of candidates for the Master's degree in business administration .
