Hello dear, yes you can apply for this GATE exam as AMIE is also a professional body which is equivalent to BE. GATE are written to do ME/MTECH in IITs and NITs.According to GATE rule here are some of the eligibility:-


Qualification:-

>> For (BE/BTECH/B.ARCH) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture, if you are in final year or passed then you can write for this exam.

>>Master’s degree in any branch of Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Applications or equivalent are also eligible to write for doing PH.D in IITs and NITs.

>>Integrated Master’s degree programs or Dual Degree programs in Engineering / Technology can also write for this exam.

>> Professional Societies, recognized by MHRD/UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by Institution of Engineers-India, AMICE by the Institute of Civil Engineers-India equivalent to BE are also eligible for this exam.

So, you are eligible to write this exam, try to get a good score if you want to get IITs, a score of 600- 750 is considered good.
