Educational Qualification for IPS:-

At least Bachelor Degree in any Discipline Or Pursuing Final Year of Degree
in any Recognized Universities can applicable for it.......

Age Criteria:-

Age of candidate must be between 21 to 30 years.......

Relaxation for OBC on upper age is +3 years so, age between 21 to 33 years.

Relaxation for SC/ST on upper age is +5 years so, age between 21 to 35 years.

Attempt limit:-

General Candidate can apply maximum 4 Times.

OBC Candidate can apply maximum 7 Times.

Yes you can apply for the Civil Services IPS Exam if you have done BBA through Distance mode.

Only thing tat you have to be sure that the university from which you have done BBA is recognized by UGC or not.

If the University is not recognized by UGC , then there will be no value of your degree.

Apart from Educational Qualifications criteria you have to fulfill the other requirements too to assure yourself of being eligible for the exam.

The other requirements are :

C) Both male and female candidates can apply for this exam.

D) You need to be physically and mentally fit for this exam.

The Indian Police Service , simply known as Indian Police or IPS, is one of the three All India Services civil services of the Government of India. In 1948, a year after India gained independence from Britain, the Imperial Police Service (IPS) was replaced by the Indian Police Service.



IPS or the Indian Police Service is one of the most prestigious services in India at par with or next only to the IAS. Along with IAS, IFS (Indian Forest Service), the IPS is also an All India Service (AIS) so the person selected for the IPS may have to serve in any part of the country. But how can one appear for the IPS exam, who conducts it, and what is the IPS exam eligibility. All these questions are answered here. The IPS Exam is part of the Civil Services Exam conducted by the UPSC and not separate. Depending on your preferences and the rank you secure, you will be allotted the IPS.

Special requirement for IPS and IAS:

For these two services a candidate MUST be a citizen of India. Whereas for other services the citizens of Nepal, Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee who migrated to India after 1st January 1962, or persons of Indian origin from the countries mentioned in the notification can also apply.

Special Physical Requirements for IPS

As mentioned earlier candidates appearing for the personality test on clearing the civil services mains exam have to meet certain physical requirements to be eligible for IPS.

Minimum height of 165 cm for Men and 150 cm for Women (minimum height is relaxable to 160 and 145 cm for Men and Women respectively in the case of candidates belonging to ST and to races such as Gorkhas, Garhwalias, Assamese, Kumaonis, Nagaland Tribals etc.)
Min Chest girth fully expanded: 84 cm for Men and 79 cm for Women. Expansion of 5 cm for Men and Women.

Yes you can apply for the Indian Police Service. There is no rule which could prevent correspondence or distance education degree holders from appearing for the Indian Police Service.

You are very much eligible for the Indian Police Service as long as you are meeting the other eligibility criteria for the Indian Police Service including the physical criteria which should be met due to the nature of work carried out by the IPS officer.

The Civil Services Examination is specifically held for Indian Police Service, Indian Administrative Service etc.
