I completed Diploma in EEE Can I apply for Railway Jobs and what is the procedure to apply?

Yes, diploma holders are eligible for various positions in railways. Junior Engineer is the most common profile offered under railways. Also you can apply for clerical positions as well as Loco Pilot jobs. Recruitment is carried out by RRB. Details can be collected from the web portal of RRB.

Yes,if you have completed your diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering then you will be eligible to apply for Group D Jobs in Indian Railways.As per your degree and qualification you will able to apply for the following posts :

1. Signal Maintainer.
2. Electrician cum clerk.
3. Junior Station Clerk.

Details of Recruitment Process of Group D for Indian Railways :

• Recruitment Notification comes in the month of July every month.
• Last date to apply for Written exam retains till 30th September.
• Issues of Written exam admit card - Issued in next year.
• Written exam taken in May/June of next year.
• Official website to get notification and link for online registration is www.indianrailways.gov.in

Exam Fee details :

• Candidates from General and OBC category will have to pay Rs 100.
• Candidates from SC/ST category will have to pay Rs 50.
• Female candidates are exempted from the fee payment.

Eligibility requirements :

• Minimum educational qualification for Group D is matriculation pass out with Diploma degree in specified stream such as Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics & Communication..etc.
• Candidates minimum marks in class 10th and Diploma degree should be 50%.
• Candidates minimum age should be 18 years and should not be above 28 years.

Selection Procedure :

• Written test will be taken as a preliminary exam.
• After passing written test there will be a Physical Efficiency Test.
• After successful completion of Written test and PET you will call for Medical Fitness ,Personal Interview and Document Verification.

Written Test :

• Written test will include 150 objective type questions.
• Questions will be from General Reasoning and Intelligence,Numerical aptitude,General Knowledge and English.
• Total duration of written test will be of 02 hours.

Physical Efficiency Test will include following activities :

• Male candidates will have to run a distance of 1500 meters in 6 minutes in one chance.
• Female candidates will have to run a distance of 400 meters in 3 minutes in one chance.
