Hi Sir/Madam, I have scored 51% marks in my 10th and 87% in 12th standard. I want to join IIT so with such percentage of marks I can get admission? I belong to an ST category. Kindly tell me immediately.

Admission in IIT is offered after qualifying in JEE Main and Advanced examination.

So, you have to appear and qualify in both stages of examination for admission in the course.

JEE Main is conducted twice in a year while Advanced is conducted once in a year. Examination is conducted by NTA.

From this year onwards there is no criteria of having minimum marks in intermediate. Candidate must pass intermediate is only requirement.

Yes, if you cleared national level exam JEE mains and advance after 12th you can get admission in IIT. There is no criteria regarding 10th board marks for IIT ( just pass it) , While you must have 75% aggregate in 12 th board exams or be in top 20 percentile in your respective board. ... 10th marks dont matter at all in any course .

And in addition to that you have to score min 65% in 12th boards as, For the SC/ST/PwD category, the aggregate marks is minimum 65% .

but For 2020, IITs have relaxed the admission criterion for qualified candidates due to the pandemic. Candidates clearing JEE-Advanced will be eligible for admission, irrespective of marks obtained in their class 12 board exams.
