Dear friend,

At first just complete your B.Tech study, don't be confused at this time.

There are huge job opportunities in the Govt and as well as in the private sector once you complete your graduation in IT.

Well, now let me tell you that for getting secured central Govt jobs,as an IT engineer you have to appear for the IES,which is the civil services exam conducted by the UPSC only for graduate engineers in the engineering public sector.

For that you can start the preparation of IES from your 3rd year of graduation onwards,as it is a very tough competitive exam.

Each year thousands of candidates apply for this exam.

you can get study materials for IES from the nearby book stores and as well as from online.

If you want to pursue higher studies right after B,Tech you can do that also by studying M.Tech for which you have to crack the GATE exam.

Now fix your mind at first after B.Tech what you want to do abd according to that, take the next step...

Wish you can keep your mind cool and take your decision!

Best of luck!

dear friend, as you a student of IT, so i would like to tell you that there are very few seats available in government sector for you.
But as you want to be an IAS/IPS, it is very appreciable.
You can prepare for it very well, if you will do M.Tech, then definetely you will sure get benefit and it will help you to increase your knowledge.
But you can appear in IAS after completion of your B.Tech degree.
As your only aim to be an IAS then you should start your preparation from right now. You should start preparatio for PT.

good luck.

HI!

Whether you will work or will pursue higher education is a decision which you have to take, others can only guide you. Both the options are good, you can select anyone depending up on your interest & your potential.

If you want to upgrade your knowledge, learn new concepts & have a passion for further studies then you can pursue MTech.

If you are not interested in higher studies & ready to sell yourself in the corporate world then you apply for jobs.

If your sole aim is to become IAS/PS/IES then you can start preparing from today itself. In that case pursuing MTech. will not be a wise decision since you are eligible to appear in the civil services exam.

Civil services exam is one of the toughest exam in India. So, Job & civil services preparation cannot go together unless you are brilliant.

dear . now you are pursuing b.tech with, ece.

if you want to go in govt sector job as civil services.
i think you should do your own trade job first after completing your b.tech course.
then after with job you can prepare for civil services. that will make you so confident , this needs for sucsess in these type of competetion

with best wishes.aditya

Hi
If you are interested in IAS then remember this is not an easy task to clear the IAS examination a constant study and a lot of hard work required if you want to clear this examination.

How much you can give is the only time you needed for the preparation of IAS. With the proper study you need a good tutor also who will guide you how you can crack this examination.

So you can join the institute for the preparation of IAS examination which will guide you tricks to for cracking the exam.

Below Iam giving you some information regarding IAS examination which will be helpful for you:

How to Prepare Notes
There are different methods of making notes and one should decide which method suits you the best. There are two types of making notes, one is the LINEAR NOTES and the other PATTERN NOTES.
Linear is a method in which you condense the material you have read using headings and sub headings and jotting down the most important points. This method works best when making notes from a book where the material is already properly organised.

Pattern Notes. For this we have to begin the topic at the centre of the page. Each line radiating from it represents a branch of the main idea. Each point is written as briefly as possible using a key word or a phrase. It is a better method to adopt because it is more flexible than making Linear notes. One can add extra information to it at any point without any problem.

How to Read Effectively
try to focus on about 70% of the syllabus instead of being over ambitious and trying to cover the whole syllabus. The next thing to be kept in mind is the choice of study material. It is a wise option to just refer to few standard books to get an deep understanding of the subject. Reading from too many books will do more harm than good.

GOOD LUCK

Government Sector Engineering Jobs
Engineering is not only a career but more of as an area of expertise, which opens doors to a vast area of jobs. Engineers probably have a wider choice of the environment in which to work, and the type of job, than any other profession. The engineers today are not confined to the obvious sectors such as mechanical, chemical and electrical but have a vast scope in advanced areas such as ultrasonic, vacuum technology, as thermal engineering, polymer technology, computers, telecommunication, and many more. There are many fields in engineering in India. Engineering has several branches, and often the knowledge in one branch can be applied to many fields. Moreover, in any organization or project, engineers from one field work with engineers and specialists of many other fields as well.

Securing a government job is a dream for anyone (even engineers) till today but for some obvious reasons like the fewer recruitment's, less salary, staying limited to a particular geographical area have made engineers to move towards private sectors in the past. But since 2008 there has been a change in the trend, now engineers from prestigious institutes are looking forward to join services in government sector as compared to private sectors.

Benefits of working in public sector
 Broad overview of the sector
 Flexibility to plan
 Limited working hours
 Flexibility to stay in a particular geographical location
 Job stability

Public sector has played a very crucial role in the growth of the economy and the industrialization of the country since independence. The first public sector undertakings were the railways. Soon after independence the autonomous government undertook the task of setting up of a strong economic infrastructure. The main areas that were focused on were iron & steel industries, power generation, mining and oil refining activities. Later on the government undertook development of the major infrastructure activities such as on employment in electronics companies. Engineers in the public sector can work for various organizations as diverse as the Railways, Ministry of Defence, local government or the Environment Agency etc. A lot of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) under the aegis of Government of India regularly provide for employment opportunities. Job seekers can apply to these undertakings, according to their required job profile and area of interest.

Below is the list of some PSU's in India:
 Air India Limited
 Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL)
 Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL)
 Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL)
 Engineers India Limited (EIL)
 Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL)
 Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)
 Indian Oil Corporation Limited(IOCL) * Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL)
 Oil India Limited (OIL)
 Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC)
 Steel Authority of India (SAIL)

Engineers are in great demand everywhere and almost in all the sectors, but of late we have noticed lot of public sector banks are also recruiting them. Engineers prefer to join them simply for the reason as the bank jobs are thought of as one of the prestigious careers in our social value system. Eventually, bank jobs are rewarding financially and give a lot of social security. Some of the banks offering employment are:

 Reserve Bank of India
 State Bank of India
 Union Bank of India
 UCO Bank

Other areas where engineers are in great demand are the Defence forces (Army, Navy and Air Force). These three sectors provide ample opportunities of growth. One either joins the Indian army to qualify for the rank of an officer or one opts for other ranks. Combined Defence Service exam is conducted by UPSC twice every year for recruitment to office cadre of the Army, Navy and Air force. Another major exam for engineers is Indian Engineering Services (IES), a combined competitive examination conducted by the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) for recruitment to the Indian Engineering Services. Till date UPSC remains the top most choice of people who are interested in careers in government sector. Despite of benefits that come with career in government sector like long term security, prestigious, limited working hours, still there is a chunk of population which is still interested in private sector.
