CLAT is stands for Common Law Admission Test .This exam is conducted for admission for LLB & LLM course .

If you have completed 12th standard from any stream with above 50% marks then you are eligible to attend in CLAT exam for admission in Under graduate course .

If you want to apply for Post graduate course , then you must have BL or LLB degree with above 55% marks .

The candidate age should not be more than 20 Years for under graduate course .

CLAT Stands Common Law Admission Test

CLAT is a centralized test for admission to prominent National Law Universities in India

CLAT stands for Common Law Admission Test. This exam can be given for both LLB and LLM. Fourteen national universities participates in this examination and every year one of them takes the responsibility of conducting the exam. For example this year Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur is conducting the exam which is due in 12th May.

Undergraduate Programme:-

Educational Qualification:- You need to complete higher secondary examination or its equivalent of a recognized board with not less than 45% of marks. For SC/ST/OBC/PWD the marks to secure is 45% of marks in aggregate. Even final year students can also apply.

Age Criteria:-

i) For General and OBC Category:- 20 yrs (upper age limit)
ii) For SC/ST Category:- 22 yrs (upper age limit)

Postgraduate Programme:-

Educational Qualification:- You need to have a LL.B/B.L degree or an equivalent degree with 55% from a recognized university. For SC/ST/OBC/PWD the percentage or marks to secure is 50% of marks. Even final year candidates are also eligible to sit for this examination.

Exam Pattern for LLB:-

English including Comprehension
General Knowledge/ Current Affairs
Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability)
Legal Aptitude
Logical Reasoning

Exam Pattern for LLM:-

There will be short answer questions of 100 marks total. 10 questions will be there and 10 marks have been allotted for each question. Then 100 marks have been allotted for MCQ. Each question will carry one mark. Following aras will be covered: Law of Contracts, Law of Torts, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law and Legal Theory.
