My brother has cleared his M.Com from Nagpur University. Now he want to apply for NET/ SET Exams. Pls suggest the criteria for the NET/SET

Hello friend,
The minimum educational qualification required to be eligible for NET/SET exam is a masters degree with a minimum of 55% for general candidate and 50% for candidates belonging to SC/ST category.
Candidates who qualify SET are eligible to be appointed as lecturer in a particular state whereas, candidates who qualify NET are eligible to be appointed as lecturer in universites/colleges anywhere in India.

Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree OR

equivalent examination from universities recognised by UGC

For Junior Research fellowship – You must be between 19 –28 years of age.

For Lectureship –You should be at least 19 years of age
there is no upper age limit

SET - State Eligibility Test

Both the exams are conducted by UGC(University Grants Commission) an the exams are held 2 times in a year.

Eligibility for NET:

The candidates must have completed his/her PG degree from a recognized university of UGC to apply for this exam and the candidates must have secured 55% aggregate and for SC/ST/VH/PH candidates it is 50%.

The candidates who are writing their final degree exam can also apply for this exam.

The candidates must appear with the subjects of their post graduation only.

The age limit for the exam is that for JRF(Junior Research Fellowship) candidates they must have a age limit of 19-28 years and must not exceed the limits.

The candidates belonging to SC/ST/VH/PH has 5 years age relaxation.

As far regarding this exam you are eligible to apply.

You have completed the M.Com course and you want to apply for NET exam..

NET exam is conducted by UGC every year to recruit students for lectureship/Junior research fellowship course..

Eligibility for NET exam:-----------------------

>>The candidate must have complete the post graduation course from arecognized university..

>>The candidate has to secure 55% aggregate through out the post graduation.
>>For lectureship:- No upper age limit
For Junior research fellowship:- Upper age limit is 28 years

These are the eligibility criteria you have to fulfill.
As you have done M.Com course then you are eligible for NET exam..
So, get prepare for NET exam..

The UGC-NET will be conducted in objective mode from June 2012 onwards. The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held on the day of Examination in two separate sessions...

I passed M.Com.from K.U.University(UTTARAKHAND) in 1994 with 54.6% marks.Am I eligible for Ph.d?
In 1994,95,96and in 1997 minimum 50% marks was required in P.G. for Ph.d.

can't answer with correspondance degree?
