Yes definitely if you want to pursue a medical course from a recognised University as well as from a reputed Institute then you have to clear the NEET entrance exam. In order to seek a government seat in a government college then you have to secure a very good rank in the merits of this entrance exam otherwise you will be eligible for the management quota seat if you do not want to appear in the entrance exam.

Re: Is it compulsory to clear NEET exam to get admission for medical course in merit?
No, it is not necessary to appear in NEET examination and qualify in it as not in all the courses admission is offered on NEET score.
The available course for candidates not interested in appearing for NEET examination is : BHMS. BAMS. Biotechnology. B.Pharma. But, if you want to get admission in private or government colleges for MBBS or BDS course you have to appear and qualify in NEET examination. Candidates need to have better understanding of NCERT topics of Std 11th and 12th ( Physics, Chemistry and Biology ). So, you must focus on it. If possible you can join test series offered by various institutes to evaluate your preparation. |

Re: Is it compulsory to clear NEET exam to get admission for medical course in merit?
Neet exam stands for National eligibility entrance test for medical. The aspirants have to appear in this entrance exam if they want to take admission in government medical colleges. Even the private colleges also give admission on the basis of this entrance exam.
One who is not interested to appear in the entrance exam has to take admission in management quota seat. In the management quota seat the admission is purely on the basis of money donation and 12th percentage. |
