my son got a rank of 10541 in viteee and has been called for counselling in June please help me he is interested in cse and civil

i think it would be better for you thatyou opt for civil rather than cse becouse at present scenario civil has much more demand than cseso opt for civil

many people confused when they have to make choise btween two branch...i suggest u to opt that branch in which u have more interest.....

Its normal to being confused to choose between two branch..But I suggest you to go for the branch in which you are more interested..The cse branch is
good but the present situation dont seem to take admission for the branch..but after 4 years who can say the demand of the cse may be increased..but for now the demand of the civil branch is more..The demand for the sw engineer is always on the top..So its upto you to select the
branch..

in my opinion civil engineering is better than computer science because there are chances of government jobs in civil. Also in cse there are very less chances of jobs now days.

See i suggest that your son should choose the field which he likes. Both fields are very much different from each other. If you son doesnt have interest in CSE and he join that then he may face problems in the 4 year of engineering. As CSE is not just working on MS Word,computer repairs etc

CSE is hardcore programming and until and unless you have interest in it you wont be able to be successful in it

and another is civil which also is good. Actually both are equally good. I wont suggest you to join 1 branch from these two. Instead i would like to tell you that you please sit with your son and discuss about his likings and you may even try aptitude test.

So hope you make the right decision.

I think you must choose Civil engineering in VITEEE Counselling because in now a days
there are very great demand for civil engineers. So, its better if you can choose
civil engineering..................

though both the branches have a bright future still i think you should go with computer science as civil has had drop downs before and computer industry is spreading at a good rate in india....

both are good course you can prefer only civil because civil scope its very good with compare to cse.

go for computer for better job opportunities

i suggest u to take civil as in a course for counselling in vit cause vit is known best for ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ,MECHANICAL AND CIVIL.
so i suggest u to take civil as ur course
next it depends upon u wat to take as in ur interest.

i think civil will be best choise for u.i think so because in present days software sector is very down.so it will be very tough to get jobs in software sector. as CSE is software bassed stream so i suggest u to take civil not CSE. as civil is core branch . every one knows that core market is always high. so i think there will be no problem for u to get job in this sector.besides u can do MBA after civil .then u can get also very big job. so take decission &make ur future bright.

after seeing the present market senario it will be better option if you go for Civil instead of CSE.moreover civil is a core department from where you will get various goverment jobs opportunities.but in CSE you wont so many goverment jobs.a civil engineer can do jobs both in public as well as private sectors.

there is no any doubt that now these day the civil engineering branch is at the peack,

but if you have not intrest in the drawing and the designing then you can go for the cse,

now its your own choice.where you want to go.

Since you have the option of branches you can now give priority to the college facilities for both streams there and the percentage of placements....

CSE and civil both would be good as both of them have good scope...if you are intrested in Software jobs...then CSE and if core jobs then Civil..

see, the software market is not good wright now, so it will be better for you to go core department..

that's why Civil is the better choice now days..

there is huge opportunity to get a good job. as many new construction companies are opening..

It depend on your choice in which field you have more interest.
If you have more interest in making software's and also in knowing about hardware then you should go for CSE
If you have interest in dealing with infrastructure or construction of roads or bridges the you should go for Civil.

in my view civil engineering will be best option. also you can earn more money by joining constructions companies. because now a days top software companies are suffering with recession.

they are not giving much salary as they were giving in previous days.

also software companies are reducing their staffs.so there will be lot of work pressure for small number of software engineers.

so CSE will not be a better option.

I think you should option for cse computer science engineering

cse is a very competitive branch than civil, i think civil is best as jobs are more competition is less,if u do any m.tech, specilization or mba u can get good job,if u want to settle in india u can get a good govt job also . but if u think u can definetily get best % & knowledge u can go for cse also. than u must do m.tech or mba because cse with only b.tech is waste.

Its better that you ask your son's preference in this matter.It depends upon his interest.
If your son is interested in Engineering drawing then he can go for Civil and if he is interested in developing programs then CSE is the best.

Either of the streams are good but i hope Civil lays a step ahead than CSE in terms of salary.But if you join companies like Larsen and Turbo then the working conditions may be tough for the civil Engineers.

CSE is a stream in which the job is not fixed.because in the recession times the CSE graduates may loose their jobs.

IT'S JUST ONE YEAR SINCE THIS QUESTION WAS ASKED.. AND CSE IS BACK WITH A BANG..

WITH 125% PLACEMENTS IN CSE FROM VITEEE THIS YEAR (Each candidate got 1.25 job offers at avg)... and AVG PLACEMENT SALARY OF 9.5 LAKHS..

CSE IS DEFINITELY THE BEST...

My suggestion is civil.because cse have tough job opporunities.you choose civil that will be better.

You choose civil. It has more job opporunities in future and have a good scope.

Civil is a better option than CSE for in VITEEE Counselling as it provides more job opportunities in future with a good scope.

my vit 2012 rank is 2072.Which branch i get? which course is best in vit?

Both Branches are very good . I suggest to select the dept in which u have more interest .
Anyway if u talk about the two departments ::
CSE ::
It is full of programming , coding etc. . So it should be choosen if n only if u have interest in programming .
The future of CSE dept is good if u acquire better knowledge in programming .
CIVIL :
It is the core department .
In this u can choose for many government jobs in the future and there will be consistency in the job .
The present n future scope for civil engineering is awesome .

In my suggestion i will recommend to choose CIVIL rather than CSE .
