Its very difficult to know exactly the cut off marks for any NIT or its stream.
We can just get a rough idea about it.
Hence it is necessary to get at least 60% marks to get into NIT's.

Branch wise cutoff in IITs doesn't make any sense. After 2007 there happened lots of changes.
In 2007, IIS, IISER and IIST were also through IITJEE. So the candidates having interest in research or aerospace went in those institution.
After 2008 these research institute started their own entrance test and some IITs were opened.
Also, every year (3 consecutive years, 9% every year for OBC) seats in the colleges are being increased due to OBC reservation.

So last 5 years' graph cutoff won't reflect anything really useful. It would be sufficient to look into JEE-2010 counselling brochure. That will make you understand everything.

Mechanical:72-494
Civil:1368-1662
Computer science: 3-86

A 8000 rank in general category means what rank in OBC category ?
