Re: Cutoff required to get placed in top colleges of Chennai?
TNEA 2013 cutoffs are the minimum marks as ascertained by the Anna University needed to qualify for admissions to the various engineering courses. The TNEA 2013 Cutoffs are determined by the number of applicants, intake per college/university and the previous year's cutoff. Students can determine the best course they can apply for, using the TNEA 2013 Cutoffs. Students can check out the previous years TNEA 2013 Cutoffs on this page to get an idea.
The TNEA 2013 Cutoffs for engineering are calculated as follows: Total Cut off marks /Total Marks (200 marks) Subjects Total Marks Cut-off Calculation Cut-Off Marks Mathematics 200 200/2 100 Physics 200 200/4 50 Chemistry 200 200/4 50 Engineering Cut-Off 200/200 For example if a student secures 198 in Maths, 156 in Physics and 160 in Chemistry then the TNEA Engineering *Cutoff marks for that students will be calculated as follows Subjects Total Marks Cut-off Calculation Cut-Off Marks Mathematics 200 198/2 99 Physics 200 156/4 39 Chemistry 200 160/4 40 Engineering Marks of this student 178Marks/200Marks students will be equated with the qualifying examination conducted by the State Board of Tamil Nadu using the Normalization method as follows: Calculation of Normalization Marks = 100 x actual marks / highest marks of the same board For example, a student scores 90 Marks in Math (CBSE) and the CBSE Toppers Marks in Maths are 95 Normalization Marks = 100*90/95=94.73648 Note: If the highest marks of a student (Tamil Nadu State Board) in a particular subject are 100 and the highest marks in the same subject of a student belonging to another board is 90 the highest marks for both the boards will be considered to be equal at 100. The TNEA Rank list 2013 will be published by Anna auniversity on June 12 based on the TNEA 2013 Cutoffs, to be further used for Counselling for the TNEA 2013 Admisison process. Check out the TNEA Cutoffs for 2012 To enable the students to get a fair idea about the Cutoffs, the TNEA Cutoffs for 2012 have been provided below Students have to choose the district and the category to get the college wise cutoff per branch |
